An extension to the nearby Island of Malta

This trip will cover the main sites and monuments of the Island of Malta and can be added as a pre or post tour of Tunisia.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Mdina (L, D)

Welcome at Malta airport. Transfer to hotel. After lunch, in the afternoon, we will focus on Malta’s old capital,Mdina, the Roman villa/archaeological museum and catacombs at Rabat, and St. George’s (aka Marsascirocco) and St. Paul’s (he was shipwrecked on Malta) Bay. Dinner and overnight at your hotel

Day 2: Gozo (B, L, D)

We will visit Gozo, starting with its citadel dating back to Phoenician and Roman times and including the small antiquities museum (Casa Biondi). Further sites include the impressive Giants’ Tower (a megalithic temple), and the remains of a lavish Roman villa on Ramla Bay, arguably the best bay on both islands. Dinner and overnight at your hotel

Day 3: Valletta (B, L)

Day tour of Valletta, its fortifications and home to the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem since 1532. Visit the upper Barrakka Gardens to view the fortifications and the Magisterial Palace (the State Rooms and Tapestry Chamber are subjected to Parliament sessions).

Day 4: Departure (B)

After breakfast, departure to Malta airport
